The Environment Agency has turned to Bridgezone to assist it with work in Plymouth’s beautiful Sutton Harbour. This harbour is known as the birthplace of modern Plymouth, with the original Anglo-Saxon settlers of the city having sailed into this natural harbour and formed their settlement around it: indeed, this first significant colony was named Sutton, only becoming known as Plymouth following the Norman conquest. We are delighted that the Environment Agency has turned to us to work in so historic a location.
Bridgezone’s specialist knowledge and tools will be required to allow us to both perform a dive inspection of Sutton Harbour’s lock gates and record underwater footage at the same time, allowing the Environment Agency to see exactly what we see. This work is essential to the continuing operation of the harbour, ensuring that the lock gates continue to operate and allow the safe passage of sea-faring vessels.
